Andre Williams is a musician from Richfield, Minnesota, United States; known as Dredolf, which presents its most recent release titled SADISFIED: an album of 9 musical cuts available on DISTROKID. The new album of Dredolf features a song titled SADISFIED, produced by Yago Beats, whose official music video on Youtube. SADISDIED is a play on words resulting from the union of the word SAD (Sad) and SATISFIED (Satisfied), the song tries to oppose feelings and assimilate them as we find them.
Dredolf: “I would like to work with Roddy Richh, Future, Jack Harlow, Tory Lanez, MGK…”
Andre Williams, now on Dredolf, says he started making music in seventh grade with Reese (who now calls himself professionally “Reese Famous Beatz”). It was the years 2007 – 2008 and the dance “Jerkin” was booming, Dredolf and his friends thought that riding that wave to boost their musical careers would be ideal. “I retired for a few years and then took a 10-year hiatus. I kept creating, but I didn’t release anything during that 10-year period,” says Dredolf. Now, after the rebranding, he is back hungrier than ever; and with a full catalog of music, content and a solid team behind that keeps him going.
This year, 2022, has been the busiest year for Dredolf, he has released 3 albums “Rockstar Traits”, “Shadow People” and “Sadisfied” along with several singles in which he acts alongside artists such as Redthe3rd, Mussa Mushey, Reeves Junya, Reese Famous Beatz and Nicholas Haze among others. The sound that Dredolf has emitted in each of his albums, included SADISFIED, has depended on his moods, he can go from a pop sound to a rap song in the same session in a very natural way. His music is inspired by musicians such as Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Yeat, Paramore, Blink 182, Mod Sun, Machine Gun Kelly, etc.
Interview with Andre Williams (Dredolf).
- What sound do you feel most fulfilled with? Which of the musical genres you don’t master catches your eye to try?
A: There’s no sound I’d say I’m more comfortable with. It really depends on what mood I’m in, but there are times when I make a pop record and a hard rap song in the same session. I’d like to go deeper into live music, I’ve been learning guitar and piano. I feel that if I can add these instruments to my arsenal, I will be even more unstoppable.
- What musical artists have influenced your music?
A: It’s easier for me to say which artists have inspired me than which artists have influenced me. I’m inspired by Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Yeat, Paramore, Blink 182, Mod Sun, Machine Gun Kelly, really the list could go on forever. I listen to a wide range of genres and I think that is definitely reflected in my own music.
- Dredolf, Have you been more musically active during this year 2022, have you released 3 albums “Rockstar Traits”, “Shadow People” and “Sadisfied”, which one cost you more effort to complete?
A: Absolutely, 2022 has been my busiest year. 3 albums. Believe it or not, I’ve held on toShadow Peoplesince 2015. My Day 1 fans waited 7 years for that project. I’m sure that was the one I spent the most time on. Rockstar Traitstook me about a week to complete the entire album, but it’s my favorite work to date and I had a lot of fun creating that album.
- “Love is a Circus” is a very impressive title and a very deep song, of all the songs you have created, is there one that always comes to mind?
A: First of all, thank you. In fact, we have a video for Love is a Circus andLove is a Circus II, they will appear very soon! The song “Up up & Away” by Rockstar Trait is the one that’s always in my head right now, it’s pretty much my theme song right now.
- Redthe3rd and Nicholas Haze, Mussa Mushey, Junya Reeves are artists you’ve worked with. Which artist would you like to work with again?
A: Redthe3rd, Mussa Mushey, Reeves Junya and Reese Famous Beatz are all my brothers, blood couldn’t make us any closer and I have projects with each of them in the near future. Nicholas Haze is also my brother, he passed away in 2018 of an overdose. He lives through us and through the music he left behind.
- Right now, which artist would you like to work with in the future?
A: I’d like to work with Roddy Richh, Future, Jack Harlow, Tory Lanez, MGK, obviously the list goes on, but I’ve manifested a huge network of dope artists and like-minded people to work with and I’m excited to do so. Follow me to see what I am capable of manifesting.
- Can you give us a preview of your upcoming projects?
A: I can give you a title. Love story shattered by war. 15-track album available in 2023. Follow me on any social media platform @dredolf, I’m posting snippets and previews all the time.
- What’s the best and hardest thing you’ve been through during the artistic process of creating yourself as a musician?
A: The hardest thing I’ve been through during the artistic process was definitely finding a way to recover from all the curves and obstacles that life throws at you and still find time and energy to focus on building a brand, making good music. and being a human being. Now I’ve found that balance and I’m more prepared than ever.
- What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from the world of music and entertainment?
A: One of the most important things I’ve learned in this industry is that not everyone who smiles in your face is your friends. There are many snakes in this line of work, many people who just want to be around you for their own benefit, or who secretly conspire against you because they fear you and what you are capable of.
