Maurice Hamilton (11/03/1990) has created Detroit Rap News, one of Detroit’s largest rap music news blogs and websites. A project designed for the streets that promotes the talents that are in Detroit, through the promotion of content on its website and social networks.
Detroit is a great reference of electronic music, especially for the Ghettotech (fusion of electronic music with hip hop) with great references such as DJ Assault, DJ Omega, The Detroit Grand Pubahs, DJ Godfather, DJ Funk, among others. “The idea to create Detroit Rap News came from my love of Detroit music. We needed our platform as Worldstarhiphop, so I created one,” Maurice tells us.
Detroit Rap News powers the talent in Detroit.
«Ear 2 the Streetz is a collaborative film with great artists of the city. More than an album, the Stop Sleepin series (second mixtape) is for artists who gave the feeling of being asleep, so I did a 5-track EP with them, Maurice Hamilton.
MAURICE HAMILTON ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF “EAR 2 THE STREETZ VOL.2” ON MARCH 13.
Detroit Rap News is presented as a music blog that unites the different voices of Detroit into one, with a series of musical releases in the form of mixtapes. From his first mixtape, “Ear To The Streets, Vol. 1” (November 3, 2021), twenty songs have emerged among which Mad House (ft. ProjectBoy Huncho), Mafia Vibes (ft. Prince Chief), even Milk himself jumping in Turnt Up and more. With the pleasure of working with outstanding artists such as Sada Baby, Drego, Veeze and Nuk.
Launching this type of project is a difficult task when it comes to bringing together the artists who will collaborate on the songs. The result is manifested in songs that capture the musical essence of Detroit, such as “Mob Ties” with Risktaker, D-Boy, Yung Juno and Sker McGurt.
Stay humble, stay hungry, and anything can happen. Be consistent, never give up, only do it if you really love him like I do.
Maurice Hamilton.
