BeatPlugg has created beats for Soulja Boy and Wiz Khalifa

Christopher Cummings (born June 10, 1994) is an American record producer and beats maker known as BeatPlugg. Creator of beats for the songs of artists such as Soulja Boy, Agoff, Wiz Khalifa, Juney Knotzz, Tadoe, NoPlug, YRNMangoFoo, GloThrow, OjDaJuiceman, ChevyWoods and many others.

Chirsopher, from now on BeatPlugg, has told in an interview conducted by Gilberto Ewale Masa, that he began producing rhythms around the age of 17 or 18 in FL Studio 9. His popularity is evident in the result of his work and in the numbers of his music platforms for producers and beatmakers such as Beatstars or Airbit. Also on sites like Youtube, Spotify, Apple Music and many more.

THIS NAME (BEATPLUGG) CAME TO ME OVER THE PHONE, WHILE TALKING TO A FELLOW PRODUCER NAMED LIL KEIS IN 2012. I THINK I WAS JUST STARTING OUT AND NEEDED A LABEL. IT DIDN’T EVEN HAVE A NAME, SO WE WERE JUST BRAINSTORMING AND THOUGHT ABOUT IT.

BeatPlugg was motivated to see Lex Luger and South Side doing beats at FL Studio as well, and to see them work with Waka FlockaGucci and JuicemanBeatPlugg has admitted that almost every musician influences him, “even if you don’t listen to their music,” but he only likes hip hop, really just rap, and says maybe R&B. What inspires him when it comes to making music is listening to other music, seeing something or listening to something that makes him want to create a rhythm and remain original in that wave.

BeatPlugg (Beats): “No one helps me with my music except myself.”

In 2017 he published his EP “Finally met the Plug”, of 4 instrumentals, and his first album “Rags 2 Riches”, of 12 musical cuts. Soulja Boy was BeatPlugg’s first major artist collaboration. “I followed him a lot on Twitter in the past and saw how he used to work on the internet and put people online. I never really heard it like that until we started working, but it’s okay to be real, I sent him beats one day he liked them and we locked ourselves in for a while,” says BeatPlugg. The collaboration for Wiz Khalifa’s song came from another fellow producer named DP Beats.

Although he has worked with big names, BeatPlugg continues to act with humility. He feels that he has not yet gone through his best experience in music. “I feel like I haven’t seen it yet. I’m still working to achieve it. I haven’t had a difficult project. I really work at my own pace, so there’s no pressure and I have love for the artist who respects that.” He will soon post some new songs and productions on his Instagram @beatplugg for further updates.

BeatPlugg continues to work to put its name among the best producers. What sets him apart from other producers is that he is a person who does regular things. He always starts the instrumentals from scratch and does not use prefabricated rhythms like a robot. “I want to work with big-name artists who are signed to a label just because of the business behind it and the money like Chris Brown,” BeatPlugg said.

THE MUSIC INDUSTRY CHANGES EVERY YEAR, IN 10 YEARS I DON’T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN. I JUST HOPE I CAN CONTINUE TO MAKE MY MUSIC THE WAY I WANT AND IN MY OWN WAY.
